Role Summary
The Accounts Payable Manager will lead daily AP operations across multiple entities, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments. This role is critical to supporting cash flow management, month-end close, and vendor relationships.
You’ll collaborate with finance leadership, procurement, and field operations to streamline workflows, implement process improvements, and transition the AP function toward automation and paperless systems. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone with high-volume, multi-entity experience and a passion for building efficient processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily AP operations, including invoice processing, payment approvals, and vendor setup
- Partner with the Assistant Controller and Corporate Controller to support cash flow forecasting and AP accruals
- Provide reconciliations and reporting on outstanding liabilities for month-end close
- Monitor AP aging and retention balances, escalating past due items as needed
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies related to invoice approvals and payment terms
- Collaborate with Procurement and Field Operations to improve purchase-to-pay workflows, including PO matching and job cost coding
- Maintain strong vendor relationships and resolve inquiries promptly
- Lead and mentor AP staff, providing training, support, and performance feedback
- Identify and implement process improvements, including automation and system enhancements
Key Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of accounts payable experience in a high-volume, multi-entity environment
- Experience with purchase orders and job costing
- Strong understanding of AP processes, internal controls, and vendor management
- Proven leadership and team management experience
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities across departments
Preferred Skills
- Experience in the home services or construction industry
- Familiarity with Viewpoint Spectrum, ServiceTitan, Ramp, or similar platforms
- Exposure to AI tools or automation in AP workflows
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
