Job Description: Payroll Specialist
We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our client’s team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate processing of weekly payrolls, maintaining payroll records, and resolving any payroll-related issues. This role involves collaboration with multiple departments, ensuring proper deductions, and supporting audit processes. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Process assigned weekly payrolls accurately and on time.

Enter and verify employee time through various methods, including file uploads, spreadsheets, and manual entry.

Balance payroll files and audit reports to ensure accuracy.

Identify and resolve payroll issues in a timely manner.

Maintain payroll operations by following policies and procedures, and reporting any needed changes.

Coordinate efforts with payroll, HR, and other departments to ensure accurate employee data management.

Ensure proper deductions for payroll taxes, benefits, wage garnishments, and other items.

Assist in preparing Certified Payrolls and ensure proper governance of payroll data.

Support internal and external audits by providing payroll-related documents and reports.
Requirements:

Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent; College preferred.

2+ years of experience in a high-volume, multi-state payroll environment.

Excellent communication and organizational skills.

High proficiency in MS Office, including Word and Intermediate Excel.

Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
