Role Summary
The Corporate Payroll Specialist will support weekly payroll processing for a large multi-state employee population across both union and non-union groups. This role is responsible for reviewing payroll files, identifying and correcting errors, calculating garnishments, and supporting payroll audits.
You’ll work directly with branch administrators, international processing teams, and employees to resolve issues and ensure accurate payroll delivery. This is a great opportunity for someone with payroll experience—or a strong analytical background who is eager to learn and grow within payroll.
Key Responsibilities
- Process weekly payroll for a high-volume employee population, including California and union payrolls
- Review and validate payroll files, identifying and correcting data inconsistencies
- Collaborate with branch admin teams to resolve errors prior to submission
- Coordinate with overseas processing teams for file uploads into J&E
- Calculate garnishments and other manual adjustments
- Create, export, and merge payroll reports; analyze data using pivot tables and VLOOKUPs
- Assist with payroll audits and compliance checks
- Provide responsive support for payroll-related employee inquiries
- Eventually support specialized payroll accounts and participate in end-of-month reporting
Key Requirements
- High school diploma required
- 1–2+ years of payroll experience preferred, but candidates with strong analytical skills and a numbers?driven mindset will also be considered
- Intermediate Excel experience (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs built from scratch)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage high-volume processing
- Strong communication skills; must be comfortable handling inquiries by email and phone
- Ability to troubleshoot payroll errors and apply problem-solving skills
- Must be flexible and available on-site during training
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Dayforce
- Certified payroll experience
- Union payroll knowledge
- Multi-state payroll processing
- ADP experience
- Construction industry background
