Director of Accounting
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee financial reporting and close processes in accordance with GAAP and internal controls.
- Lead process improvement initiatives, balance sheet reconciliations, payroll, cash management, general accounting, and coordinate with AP, AR, and treasury functions.
- Collaborate with the FP&A team, provide mentorship to the accounting team, and support financial systems.
Primary Focus:
- 40% Support month-end close (MEC) initiatives, including technical accounting and financial reporting.
- 40% Coaching, training, and mentoring the accounting team.
- 20% Working cross-functionally with departments such as FP&A, HR, and Payroll.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- CPA designation required.
- 10+ years of technical accounting experience.
- 8+ years managing accounting teams.
- Experience with public accounting or large public company/Private Equity.
- Experience with large ERP systems (not QuickBooks).
- Strong Excel skills: VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and data analysis.
Preferred Skills:
- MBA
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics and PowerBI for reporting.
Soft Skills:
- Outgoing, strong leadership qualities.
- Proven change agent.
- Ability to take initiative and multitask in a high-volume environment.
