Senior Accountant
Position Summary: We are seeking a Senior Accountant to provide primary support to our general ledger accounting team and act as a liaison for divisional finance and operational groups. This role demands a high level of attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the monthly close process and resolve financial review issues promptly.
- Conduct monthly financial reviews with division and corporate personnel.
- Assist with reserve analyses, journal entries, and quarterly accrual processes.
- Prepare and review month-end reports, financial statements, and general ledger account reconciliations.
- Analyze joint venture activity and prepare related financials.
- Provide support for divisional operations teams, including ad hoc reporting.
- Collaborate with internal finance teams for budget and forecast-related queries.
- Manage high-level cost accounting functions such as land, construction, and warranty costs.
- Support internal/external audits and tax return preparations.
- Assist with the setup and financial support for new communities.
- Identify and implement process improvements to streamline accounting workflows.
- Execute cross-functional responsibilities accurately and on time.
- Handle special projects, ad hoc financial reporting, and commission calculations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- CPA or MBA (or in pursuit) is a plus.
- Minimum of 2+ years of public accounting experience required.
- 3+ years of combined accounting/finance experience.
- Experience in homebuilding, construction, or real estate is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with J.D. Edwards Enterprise-One and OneStream systems preferred.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
