Internship Program Expands to Cristo Rey High School in Dallas

Recruiting and staffing resources provider The Intersect Group has expanded its corporate work-study internship program with the Cristo Rey Network with a new internship program at Cristo Rey Dallas College Prep on September 28th.

The Intersect Group continues its work/study internship program with Cristo Rey Atlanta Jesuit High School on October 13th.

This is the fifth year the Atlanta-based professional staffing firm has worked with the high school network – a provider of innovative and rigorous college preparatory education for inner-city youth – to give its students real-world work experiences.

“Cristo Rey has provided so many young people with the type of education that will help fuel their success,” said Edwin Miller, CEO of The Intersect Group. “We want to provide an opportunity for high school interns to get a ‘real-world’ taste of what it’s like to work in a professional environment”.

Cristo Rey students worked in The Intersect Group’s corporate office in previous years. The COVID-19 pandemic has changed that somewhat: students in Dallas and Atlanta will work remotely – just as the company’s internal employees now do – at least for the next month or two.

Students will be able to select from among several different types of assignments, such as database management, social media, virtual event planning, and more. The internship spans the entire school year.

During their internship, students will be assigned an internal employee mentor/supervisor and participate in such activities as:

• Become active members of The Intersect Group’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee
• Conduct internal executive interviews
• Shadow recruiters as they conduct job candidate interviews
• Shadow business developers in meetings with TIG clients
• Participate in team and All-Hands virtual meetings
• Present on an assigned topic each month
