Director of Clinical Applications
We are seeking an experienced Director of Clinical Applications to lead the strategy, optimization, and lifecycle management of our enterprise clinical systems. This leader will define the vision for how technology enhances patient care, clinical workflows, and organizational performance. We are specifically looking for candidates with a clinical background such as an APP, PA, or NP, who understand provider workflows and can bridge the gap between clinical operations and technology.

What You’ll Do
- Provide strategic direction and leadership for all clinical application initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Build and manage the clinical applications roadmap, delivering projects on time and with high quality.
- Collaborate across departments to identify, prioritize, and implement user-focused, innovative clinical technology solutions.
- Oversee the full lifecycle of clinical applications—planning, build, deployment, maintenance, and ongoing optimization.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards including HIPAA, MIPS, and industry best practices for data security.
- Lead and mentor a high?performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, growth, and accountability.
- Partner with onboarding and acquisition teams to implement enterprise clinical systems across new practices or groups.
- Work directly with physicians, APPs, and clinical leadership to optimize EHR content, workflows, and documentation practices.
- Develop efficient EHR workflows, job aids, training materials, and a comprehensive curriculum for new hires.
- Oversee application validation, testing, and deployment of upgrades and patches.
- Troubleshoot complex issues in collaboration with IT infrastructure, systems teams, and external vendors.
- Manage vendor relationships and ensure service delivery meets established SLAs and performance metrics.
- Support clinical application reporting needs, including MIPS and other regulatory metrics.
What We’re Looking For
- Clinical background required: APP, PA, or NP strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degrees preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in IT or technology leadership, including team management.
- 5+ years of hands-on EMR/EHR experience, including build, optimization, implementation, and support.
- Experience creating training programs, workflow documentation, and end?user education materials.
- Strong understanding of healthcare regulations including HIPAA, data security requirements, and compliance frameworks.
- Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to collaborate across clinical, operational, and technical teams.
- Demonstrated experience managing vendors, juggling multiple projects, and performing well under pressure.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel for data analysis and reporting.
