System Administrator / IT Manager

Pay: $50-60/hr
About the Role:
We’re looking for a System Administrator / IT Manager to take full ownership of our IT operations and infrastructure. This is a high-impact, individual contributor role reporting directly to the CEO. You will be the sole technical resource on the team and play a critical role in managing a network of 10–12 external IT vendors, ensuring compliance, overseeing infrastructure, and supporting key business decisions.
This is a remote role, ideally based in Florida, but location is flexible.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary point of contact for all IT operations
- Oversee and manage relationships with 10–12 third-party IT vendors.
- Maintain and enforce SOC 2 compliance; ensure ongoing readiness and help drive continuous improvement. The have an expertnal auditor this person will have access to.
- Participate in and advise on SOC 2 audits; must have hands-on experience with prior audits.
- Review and assess the security components of RFPs (Requests for Proposal) and collaborate with leadership on vendor selection and risk mitigation.
- Provide technical oversight for systems built in C# and .NET; this is not a coding role but may require reviewing code, mapping fields, or making minor updates.
- Act as a strategic partner to leadership, especially around IT planning, vendor performance, and security posture.
- Act as a Project Manager between business and IT vendors.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience as a System Administrator, IT Manager, or similar technical leadership role.
- Prior experience owning or supporting SOC 2 audits.
- Strong vendor management and communication skills.
- Familiarity with RFP review processes, especially related to IT security requirements.
- Hands-on experience or a strong understanding of C#/.NET development — not required to code regularly, but able to review and understand code structure and logic.
Nice to Have:
- Experience working in a startup or small team environment. This company is 30 people total.
