Senior Central Services Systems Engineer
 
Our client is seeking a Senior Central Services Systems Engineer to support and optimize critical infrastructure. This organization prioritizes efficiency, cybersecurity, and innovation, delivering high-quality technical solutions to internal teams and external clients while maintaining compliance with industry standards.
 
As a Senior Central Services Systems Engineer, you will serve as a key escalation point for complex IT issues, ensuring the stability and performance of managed services platforms. You will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing cloud-based solutions, implementing cybersecurity best practices, and supporting infrastructure across Microsoft 365, Azure, and VMware environments. Your role will involve process improvement, documentation, and compliance, helping streamline operations and safeguard technology systems.
 
Key Responsibilities
 

  • Act as an escalation resource for Central Service Technicians, troubleshooting complex IT issues.
  • Maintain and optimize remote monitoring and management (RMM) platforms, ensuring efficient software deployment.
  • Manage and update VMware ESXi products, firewalls, switches, and access point software.
  • Implement and support Microsoft Office 365, Azure Cloud, and Azure AD solutions.
  • Apply modern cybersecurity concepts to enhance IT security policies and protocols.
  • Oversee the delivery of central services, including service desk operations, incident management, and change management.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, ensuring clarity in operational processes.
  • Improve networking infrastructure, managing VLAN, routing, and VPN configurations.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, security policies, and regulations.

 
Qualifications & Requirements
 

  • 10+ years of experience in IT support and infrastructure management.
  • Expertise in remote monitoring and management platforms for large-scale software deployment.
  • Extensive knowledge of Windows PowerShell for system automation and troubleshooting.
  • Experience managing VMware ESXi, firewalls, network switches, and access points.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft 365, Azure Cloud, and Azure AD administration.
  • Strong background in cybersecurity best practices, including breach prevention and security optimization.
  • Familiarity with Managed Service Provider (MSP) tools, including RMM, ticketing, and SIEM platforms.
  • Excellent documentation habits and process development experience.
  • Networking expertise in VLAN, routing, and VPN technologies.

 
Position Requirements
 

  • Must be able to commute or relocate to San Marcos, TX, and travel to client locations in Austin, TX.
  • Reliable transportation required, as some onsite project visits may be necessary.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. as part of technical support operations.
