Job Description:
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer to support a large Telecommunications client in Centennial, Colorado. The selected resource will sit on a Field Support team. This will assist in launching a new platform for our client. This is a high stress role that will require handling issues that come up in the field as their harmonic platform scales.
As a Senior Network Engineer, you will be critical in ensuring our network infrastructure’s smooth operation and optimization. You will be responsible for resolving cable modem issues, addressing CMTS-related challenges, troubleshooting field issues, building environments to match production, and delivering effective network solutions.
Day to Day:
- Troubleshoot and resolve cable modem issues to ensure reliable and efficient connectivity for Charter Communications customers.
- Work with CMTS (Cable Modem Termination System) equipment, including Cisco cBR-8, Arris E6000, and Casa C100G, to optimize network performance.
- Address field issues promptly and effectively, ensuring minimal disruptions to network services.
- Build and configure network environments to match production, implementing necessary changes and ensuring compatibility.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative and efficient network solutions.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements, implementing best practices to enhance network performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to evaluate and integrate new technologies into the network infrastructure.
- Conduct regular network performance monitoring and optimization to ensure high availability and quality of service.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior network engineers, sharing knowledge and fostering a culture of continuous learning

Requirements:
- In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with DOCSIS standards and protocols.
- Familiarity with PON technology for fiber-optic network connections.
- Experience working with RFI (Radio Frequency Interference) in using Harmonic equipment for network management.
- R-PHY (Remote PHY): Harmonic CableOS, Pebble 1, Pebble 2
- Proven track record of senior-level experience in a network engineering role, demonstrating expertise in network design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
- CMTS: Cisco cBR-8, Arris E6000, Casa C100G
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly identify and resolve complex network issues, and routers/ switches.
